Weary Friend

Weary Friend is the creative project started by Leah Phillipps. Her artist name is the meaning of her first and middle name. She found it to be a fitting description of the type of music she was creating and so it stuck. Weary Friend takes a sincere and raw approach to her writing and melodies. She is greatly influenced by her love for nature and its symbolic lessons.

Weary Friend first started writing in her senior year of high school, but it would not be until her senior year of College, in 2018, that she would write and release her first single, “New Start.” The feedback she received pushed her to carry forward with her writing and producing. The following year, with the continued help of her dear friend and producer, Brian Judy, she also released “The Sway” and “Wars in Our Heads.” In 2021 out of a desire to continue her growth in song composition and creativity, she took on the daunting task of self-producing the songs “Summer Days” and “Rain Cloud.” She is excited for future opportunities to keep growing her ability to compose, mix, and produce.

In 2022, with the help of Judy, she released her first album, “On Our Way.” This album was a dream come true for her. There are a total of 9 songs on the album, 5 are new songs, and the other 4 are remixed versions of her past singles. She hopes this album will be an honest portrayal of the journey that every individual is on. She desires that this album will help listeners notice the little moments in each season and be thankful for the life they have been given.
